i suspect that it is just a matter of time and patience assuming of course that you are sure he has been neutered.
The more you try to moderate hormones the more they tend to fight back. The anti=male hormones licensed for use in the dog may be worth trying but only if all else fails

There's always a power relationship in place, and it sounds like hes not accepting youre the boss. If you back away when he does this, his challenge is validated. If instead youre more firm/insistent and move him, he'll get the message.

thankyou i gueese that i do laugh at him and not b as firm as i should and lately he has become so spitefull but so attached to me if ive got visitors he jumps up and sits on my lap and wont leave me alone till they go but when i want to pick him up or stroke him he bites and scratches me like it has all to b on his terms kinda thing so maybe i need to b a bit more insistant when he misbehaves also i know cats aint here to please us we r here to look after them many thanks.

i have a male cat that is 17 months old and he is fine with me but with my girl friend he shows some of the same characteristics but not as server. leave him be and don't disturb him his hormones will prob be all over the place. male cats seem a lot more playful and bossy. if you don't take him on and simply put him in a room for 5 or 10 mins on his own when he's misbehaving he'll learn that when he's naughty that will happen. another method that i looked into is using a spray bottle and set it to mist, this does not hurt the cat but it is a feeling he will not like, if you spray him every time he misbehaves he will relate the unpleasant experience to his actions. The same can be done if you want a cat to avoid cretin areas or stop scratching furniture. hope this helps

don't let the cat see you do it though, that's the tricky bit

i have started to b a bit more firm and i ignore him when he is being naughtyand he seems to carm down i wouldnt sray him with anything myself as he would get scared and never come near again i have to admit i do soil him he slees on my bed and when i ask for a kiss he ushes his head to my mouth he is so cute just gets a bit over excited i think he has been neautered but dont seem to of made any change but i also have another boy cat so i guesse a bit of whos boss competition is going on he doesnt hurt me or ever draw blood so he is playing.
