Help

My cat is nearly 20 years old, he is an indoor cat, but this week he has not moved much from the kitchen, he seems happy enough, and moves quickly enough for food but, he has arthritis in his back legs in his back legs, but he is not himself, but not in pain, but tonight I have noticed his one paw has swollen to double the size, but he is his normal self but tired, I am afraid to take him to vets incas they advise to put him down
He is an old cat but he is my best friend, I have that feeling that he is just slowly passing , but I dont want him to go

I doubt very much that one swollen paw will be grounds for suggesting euthenasia of a cat whatever it's age. Best take here as soon as possible
