Dew Claw Damage

My 7 month old puppy has damaged her dew claw, its not hanging off just broken slightly and when she catches it it bleeds. Does she need to see a vet or is this somthing I can treat. I want to take her out for a walk but worried she damage it more

I would keep it bathed in a salt water solution and keep your eye on it. If it gets angry looking or your dog seems uncomfortable then take her to the vet.

Thanks, I have read a few bits this evening on the internet and they seem to agree with you. I have just finished paying for ?1300 treatment for her broken toes so hoping we don't need to vist vet again for a while

Snap though very often these injuries do cause a perssitant problem until the broken tip is removed. Unfortuanately it does sound as though it will need a full anaeshetic to do it. So personally i would go for the bathing too.
? time to take out insurance?

Thanks to you all, for my own sanity I took her to vets this morning. My brave puppy was very well behaved and the vet clipped it back and has said that the damage wasn't as bad as it could of been and not far back enough to need any other treatment. He said she was so well behaved as a lot of dogs need to be knocked out for a vet to go near dew claws :) I think my puppy knows I have spent enough on vet bills for now.
