My Japanaese akita puppy tail is not curly

i have a akita and her tails not curley im wondering if anyting is wrong with this or is it her age she is 5months now, her parents tails where curley im jus worrid

If the dog is fully using the tail then there wouldn't be a medical problem and therefore not a lot that you can do.

An akita's tail would be curled over by 8 weeks old if it was going to so it is very unlikely that it will now curl... In fact impossible.

Unless you were planning on showing her then I would be far more concerned about her temperament than her tail as these are notoriously one of the hardest dogs to raise and need an experienced handler.

It could be that she was badly bred from stock where the breeder didn't know the uplines of both dogs. Badly bred dogs will throw all sorts of faults.

As long as the tail is used and healthy then there is nothing to be done.

I presume that the photo was taken some time ago. I suspect that Chicco is right (she usually is, actually so far always is and she knows way more than I do about different breed characteristics. It either will or will not curl and there is nothing you can do to alter it!
