did i do the right thing

Well I rescued this rock pipit what got attacked by a cat . When I was going back home I noticed his wig was warm so I put him back on the floor and saw his sholder-blade was bleeding it was a small scratch so I left him with food and water. 24 hours later I found him dead .......Was it my fault that he died ? Did I do the right thing by picking him up and taking him home ?

Of he was injured then he would of likely been picked off by something else anyway.... another cat or a fox.

It's a difficult thing to just leave an injured animal and he would of been in such a state of shock that it would of been unlikely that you could of done anything else.

thank you for future do you have a injured bird no' or call as i have rescued 3 injured birds it would be great if i had a no' now rather that last minute

You need to look local to you and see if you can find anything.

Do some googling and see what you can come up with.

Could get in touch with the RSPB and see what they suggest.
