Tail lifting?

My horse keeps lifting her tail and standing as if to urinate but nothing happens. she is feeding well, has no temp and otherwise looks well. There does not seem to be any difference in her stable habits or droppings etc. Does anyone know what it might be?

Suspect that either she is in season or has a very mild colic. To determine which stand behind her and get someone to hold her tail out of the way.
If she is in season she will be winking at you (relax it doesn't mean she fancies you anything in trousers would do especially if she is chestnut!). If the anal sphincter is more involved then its likely to be her bowels causing her discomfort in which case it would be wise to get her looked at.
The season should sort itself out eventually though if it persists more than 10 days then get her ovaries checked out.
